that's looking quite good with the newest colors. still seems to be some roughness in the color change in the gradient change in the eye and the lettering. Maybe the image format doesn't have enough colors to do it smoothly? I seem to remember .gif being kinda limited in its color pallet.

Re: Axiom Mascot Competition

Yeah yeah it is the .GIF that makes that happens. Dont worry about it. I used perfect gradients on orginal works (PNG).

Also a third color option i will now submit. I put all 3 rapidly to see them clear.

I was more into the text blue and the eyeball green but whatever. 8) Can't wait to see the PNGs too, why GIF?
Also I have used Wings3D before but never got totally into it. It's working real nice now. The slide feature is nice.

Re: Axiom Mascot Competition

I like the font and thin outlines more from your third work (red) but colors from your second one (blue) The sci-fi bgr looks great too.

Possible to get the wikipedia symbol for Axiom into the logo by replacing the usual A letter?

Btw. I think that we will need .mesh files in result as well...

Hmmm.. It is expensive you said isn't it... But it all cost me free... Hmmm... Now I think that it can be a little problem. If you had really understood what i meant... :?

If somebody could help with covering this legally, that should be all better.

Re: Axiom Mascot Competition

Ok i have remade the mascot mesh with wings3D but not yet uv textured it...
Completely legal now :P

I represent you as .x format (for the reason of any developer could see it without any prerequired application...)

Mayber inner part of the mascot (inner eye) must be totally remade :?: but this is enough for comments now.

also glowing part must be made with particular or billboard imaging...

Looking good.
I can get it into Blender but I wish that OGRE exporter included converting to mesh.

Re: Axiom Mascot Competition

Hi after a while, as to a mascot, what about a phoenix bird similar to this one?

It comes from the How to Draw a Phoenix Bird of Flames tutorial ;)

Yeah i also have account on deviantArt. A deviantArt competition would be nice..

Sandman, do you think you could do the annonuncement for mascot and logo art on deviantART? I've observed a bit there, it seems that postings go down the lists very very fast. Do you have an idea where or how to announce there or even elsewhere? thanks

No, i dont know how it could be announced, but i know there are competitions that announce occasionally...

I think the project lead (i think he is Borrillis at the moment) must mail to the DeviantArt staff for request. And I dont know anywhere else then DeviantArt that would fit in this job.

PS: Borrillis requested my mascot sample 2 months ago to be used on the next release. And also i have prepared some UI & other stuff and send him. I had to prepare normal mapped, bump mapped, etc... versions of the mascot a month ago, yet not had found enough time for that.

Re: Axiom Mascot Competition

Cool :) I thought the matter foamed up to nothing somehow. I liked the cyber eye and the logo, especially this one (thin outline, blue)
